Your right, it most likely is a violation of some terms. If I’m contacted by any developer I will gladly restrict their application. Also proper links have been provided by asking sites.

Thats more than I can say for the requests given to Appslib which was the first offender Maybe you’ll be contacting them next too?

Bien que le site développé soit en partie illégal, eh bien moi je tiens à remercier Mr Strazzere pour le travail fait. En effet, il m’est impossible de télécharger une application depuis l’appslib puisque sur mon Archos, elle n’est plus tout à fait fonctionnelle. Impossible également de faire les mises à jour, c’est plutôt agaçant! Apparemment les développeurs n’en subissent pas de torts, alors perso, je ne vais pas me priver!
Du coup pour moi cette solution de recours tombe à point

I’d reply directly to you in email, but you’ve chosen to hide your identity. So let me explain to you something.

Currently Appslib has approximately 500 applications in it’s database. It only hosts approximately 90 applications. The rest are hotlinked from other web sites, without there permission.

I have asked the admins of those sites if it’s ok for me to have hotlinks, they all agreed until they’ve “fixed” the problem of appslib hotlinking their site without permission.

AndAppStore has already fixed this issue.

Soyons clair : c’est totalement illégal.

Quand un dev publie une app (même gratuite) sur un site – par ex. Applibs, ou le Market, il s’attend à ce qu’elle soit distribuée uniquement sur ce site. Et pas ailleurs.
Et d’ailleurs je suis sûr que le contrat l’indique clairement.

On peut se dire “si c’est gratuit c’est pas grave”, mais non.
Notamment le développeur n’a plus le contrôle sur les versions publiées. Il peut alors avoir une mauvaise réputation si une vieille version contenant des bugs est redistribuée.

De plus ce site les redistribue gratuitement, mais on voit bien le problème si un jour il décide de faire payer les apps, ou mettre en place un abonnement, ou bien… mettre de la pub

I’ll have to comment in english since my french isn’t good — and pardon me if I’m getting this wrong but I’d like to add my two cents to this

There is no “bad intentions” intended by the ads. I’m not a business, I’m a sole person who pays the bill himself. I have ads on the site because if people LIKE the site it will be using my own bandwidth and be costing myself money. Cyrket, AndroLib, they all do the same thing.

The reason I’ve created the site is for my own uses. People requested to use it also, so I’ve published it on my own site.

Appslib was no consulted, if they request I will take down my site. Though you be fair, you should know they haven’t contacted anyone about the applications they’ve been hotlinking. I have contacted and gained permission from the third party sites that they have been hotlinking for applications.

Le fait de mettre de la pub n’a pas de mauvaises intentions, je ne monte pas un business, Je suis indépendant et je paie mes factures tout seul. Il y a de la pub sur le site car si les gens AIMENT ce site ils vont utiliser ma propre bande passante et donc me causer des frais. Cyrket, AndroLib font exactement la même chose.

J’ai d’abord créé ce site pour mon usage personnel. Les gens ont demandé si ils pouvaient l’utiliser aussi donc je l’ai rendu publique et je l’héberge sur mon propre site.

Pour la suite, si quelqu’un peut le faire j’ai peur de ne pas bien comprendre.
